DreamCatcher Productions

DreamCatcher Productions are a non-profit community interest organisation working within Sussex and Surrey. We work with young people, offering them unique opportunities, inspiring them through music and performance.

Role: Steward for Talent Fest

Steward Support for one off Event Talent Fest. This event is a talent show of local young people with performances, stalls, vendors and other activities. The Charity need general stewarding support throughout the day to ensure for the smooth running and problem solving when occurring. You’ll need to work with the organiser and other volunteers and set up / pack away.

Crawley Community Garden

We are an inclusive community garden offering local volunteering opportunities in Crawley. Whether you have experience/knowledge in gardening or not we would love you to be part of our journey to build, share and sustain gardening knowledge within the community!

Date: Saturdays and Sundays (alternating please contact for dates)

Role: Allotment Volunteers

Support with the maintenance of the allotment alongside regular volunteers, tasks will include taking down a shed, weeding and preparing the ground of weed fabric and wood chip.

 South of England Show

The South of England Agricultural Society is a registered charity dedicated to funding and supporting agricultural education and countryside learning.

Dates:

Friday 20th September – Pre- Show, Saturday 21st September – Show Day, Sunday 22nd September – Show Day

Friday 22nd November – Pre-Show, Saturday 23rd November – Show Day, Sunday 24th November – Show Day

Role:

Pre-show days include helping set up for the event, supporting the SEAS team and exhibitors.

Show Days include stewarding, supporting staff and stall holders , directing people to events and activities.

All Volunteers receive support and a break to look around the show.

 

Guildcare

We are Worthing’s leading and most established social care charity, supporting people to live well, enjoy life and love every day.

Days would be based in Worthing in the Community Service Department not in the Crawley Shop.

Role:

We have 3 care homes that need activity support, and a dementia day service. The support would be supporting with activities & helping with teas & coffees.

We also would need people for the older people’s day service called creating connections, this is supporting in activities to older people who live on their own & want to socialise with other people to stop social isolation.

 

Gardening

CCA supports the voluntary and community sector in Crawley. We have a team of Social Prescribers who support individuals in Crawley with no medical advice and signposting.

Role:

Gardening clearance and tidying for local residents who cannot do this themselves or that need some extra support. You will be supported by CCAs Volunteer Manager, Social Prescribing Link Worker and our Gardening Volunteer.

Gardening maintenance for local groups and organisations with gardens but no regular volunteers.

 

 

Crawley Freeshop

FreeShop Crawley is a supermarket providing food, toiletries and baby essentials without any associated costs. 

Date: Every Wednesday 8am-4pm

 

Community Café Volunteers

Support the running of the community café by helping regular volunteers serve hot drinks, food and tidy up, and well as chat to those attending and be a friendly face to help. These sessions also offer crafts and other activities so you may be required to support these activities and encourage participation.

 

The Posh Club

The Posh Club is a glamorous performance and social club for older people held regularly in five locations across London and the Southeast.

Each three-and-a-half-hour event is styled as a tongue-in-cheek ‘posh’ 1940’s afternoon tea with three live show business turns, volunteer waiters in black tie, vintage crockery and an in-house pianist.

It is a glamorous event for about 100 participants a week, held in the heart of the community in elegantly transformed church halls and other grass roots spaces and emphasises dressing up, regular access to live performance, social connectivity and intergenerational volunteering.

Date: The Last Tuesday of the Month

Tasks would be helping set up tables, and venue ready for guests – serving guests with tea/coffee, sandwiches and fizz – clearing tables and washing up – chatting and dancing with guests
