Domestic Abuse awareness

This face-to-face session will take place on Wednesday 6 December 2023 – 9.30-12.30, at West Sussex Mind, The Gateway, 8-10 Durrington Lane, Worthing, BN13 2QG

About the course

Domestic abuse can happen to anyone from any background at any time. In this session we will look at what domestic abuse is and what behaviours we may see in abusive relationships. Through use of up-to-date statistics and practical exercises we will explore the prevalence and impact of abuse and gain a greater understanding of why people stay in these relationships. Most importantly we will look at how we can safely support someone who is in an abusive relationship.

Please note that this session may bring up things from your own past and may therefore be quite triggering. If you are planning to attend and have any concerns, please make the facilitator aware at the start of the session and take breaks as needed. There will be an opportunity to talk with the facilitator at the end of the session if you need additional support.
