Brighton Women’s Centre is currently recruiting for bank staff to join the growing Volunteer Services team. The successful candidate will help facilitate the running of three Brighton-based services; the Support & Information Phone Line, The Women’s Wellbeing Hub and the BWC Food Bank. These services do vital work to address the practical and emotional support needs of women in the community, through provision of information, emotional support, signposting, and onward referrals.
The Volunteer Services Support Worker will support with the delivery of BWC services via phone and in person, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment that adheres to BWC policies and procedures. She will work alongside the Volunteer Services Manager and Volunteer Services Support Worker.
The Volunteer Services Support Worker (Bank Staff) will support women accessing Volunteer Services to navigate a range of services to ensure her underlying needs are met. In line with BWC’s values she will adopt a trauma-informed, gender responsive and asset-based approach to support women to build their self-esteem and trust; to enhance their recovery and engagement with other, relevant services and to support women to develop healthy relationships. She will record accurate information in a timely manner.
