Recruiting Organisation: Turning Tides
Working hours: 22.5 hours per week – flexible working will be considered
Salary: £16,311.40 per annum (FTE £27,185.67).
Turning Tides is a multifunctional, complex needs homelessness organisation that works in Worthing, Adur, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex. It has over 170 staff and 300 volunteers. Its mission is to end local homelessness.
You will need a strong background in working with people who are in recovery within a residential setting. The role will primarily be based in Horsham, but the post will link in closely with the residential and outreach teams in Horsham and Mid Sussex, to ensure that effective pathways are developed for those accommodated in the service.
The role will involve providing personalised support through individually negotiated and agreed support plans for clients, who require stable secure accommodation in order to continue an abstinence based individual recovery journey. The support provided to clients within this service is psychologically informed and comes from a strengths-based approach.
Additional to direct client support this role will also have Housing Management responsibilities, such as managing all referrals and assessments, working within agreed budgets, collecting service charge, void management and health and safety/maintenance checks. The post holder will support clients through a mix of both practical and psychosocial interventions including housing support, life skills development, rebuilding relationships lost through addiction, personalised relapse prevention plans and in finding a new passion and excitement in the absence of addiction. It is expected that this work will involve a multi-agency approach involving housing, probation, drug and treatment services, health and wellbeing services and mutual aid groups such as AA and NA. The RHC will work flexible hours, enabling them to be present at key times during the week in line with individual client needs and service requirements.
