Working hours: 37 hrs per week
Salary: £22,000 – £27,000 FTE depending on experience
Contract: Permanent
Location: Based at one of the offices in West Sussex subject to availability
(Crawley/Horsham/Worthing/Shoreham), some travel to outreach locations
required.
Providing financial support advice and casework for Crawley residents who are at risk of homelessness due to money issues. This will include debt and income maximisation as well as negotiating with landlords and third parties. Clients are referred from the Local
Authority housing team advice.
A trainee role will be considered for the right candidate who can demonstrate some knowledge in one of the areas and transferable skills, agreeing to meeting key training and quality milestones.
Citizens Advice in West Sussex (North, South, East) are recruiting a Debt and Homelessness Prevention Caseworker to join the growing team. Each year they help thousands access find a way forward. They are expanding their advice teams. You will advise on housing and debt options, maximise income and support with budgeting so residents can find the right solutions.
The ideal candidate will have experience of advice and casework in either debt, housing or benefits although a trainee position can be considered. You will have excellent communication skills and confidence with complex information and legislation. You will manage a caseload whilst ensuring deadlines are met and input into our social policy work so we make an even bigger difference.
