Working hours: 37 hrs per week
Salary: £27,000 – £28,000 + 3% pension contribution
Contract: Permanent
Location: West Sussex – can choose from one of our offices Crawley/Shoreham/Worthing/Horsham/Haywards Heath

Citizens Advice in West Sussex (North, South, East) are recruiting a Debt Advisor, which is funded by Money Advice and Pensions Service (MAPS) to provide free and independent debt advice and casework, supporting people to find solutions to manage their debts.

About the Role

The impact of cost of living is affecting many people now, struggling to pay their bills. As a specialist debt advisor you will explore issues with residents, identify solutions and provide casework support to resolve it. From debt write offs to DROs, income maximisaiton and signposting to grants. As this role is FCA regulated you will need to be confident in preparing advice letters.

About you

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of delivering independent debt advice, but training will be provided for the right candidate who can show transferrable skills. You will need to be a self-starter and highly motivated, a problem solver able to work through options, excellent communication skills and attention to detail, numeracy skills appropriate to the role and confident to use IT.
