Crawley Older Person’s Projects Lead – Senior Community Developer

Salary: £18,243 (£27,000 FTE)

Age UK West Sussex, Brighton and Hove’s vision is to inspire and enable people in West Sussex, Brighton & Hove to Love Later Life. They are the UK’s leading charity for older people and are passionate about inspiring and enabling people over 50 to Love Later Life. They provide a variety of services and activities within the community, helping older people, their families and their carers by providing opportunities for older people to stay independent, have fun, socialise and build friendships. They also provide services for people over 18, such as our Social Prescribing service.

 

The Role

 

This is an exciting role for someone who will lead, develop and manage services for the benefit of older people in Crawley. Working in partnership with colleagues, key stakeholders, local organisations and communities, this will mean high quality, impactful services and activities for older people.

Ultimately, you’ll be a part of a solution that enables older people to increase their resilience and connectivity so that they can enjoy later life, feel part of their local community and feel less lonely.

They are looking for a confident and enthusiastic person who understands community development and true partnership working, who enjoys working as part of a team and is solution focused. You will need a great understanding of Crawley and the local third sector in order to be successful at this role.

You will need to be a self-starter with excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills to drive forward their ambition for Crawley.

Hybrid working is offered with a mixture of office, out in the community and homeworking and some flexibility over days worked can be considered.
