Pages Between Us

Alzheimer’s Society is launching a pilot programme called Pages Between Us, which brings together young people (14-18 years old) and older adults living with dementia. Over the course of eight weeks, participants will embark on a journey of shared memories, creativity, and reflection. The aim is to shift perceptions, deepen understanding of dementia, and foster meaningful connections across generations.

Adults living with dementia become givers of knowledge, while young people not only learn about dementia – they experience it. Through storytelling and creative activities, they hope to combat social isolation and prepare the next generation to navigate ageing, dementia, and community care.

Why might this interest young people?
It’s a unique opportunity to:

  • Build confidence and communication skills
  • Connect with the older generation
  • Learn about dementia and help challenge stigma
  • Be part of a pioneering pilot project with potential for national rollout

They are looking for just six young people to take part, each paired with an older adult living with dementia. If you think any of your youth members might be interested, or if you’d like to learn more, they would be happy to arrange a call to discuss the project further.
