Village Halls Week 2026

Village Halls Week, 16–22 March 2026, celebrates the vital role village halls play in keeping rural communities healthy, active and connected. This year’s theme, Connecting Communities to Health and Well-being, highlights how these spaces support physical health, mental wellbeing and social connection — from exercise classes and community cafés to volunteering opportunities and mindfulness sessions.

Halls across Sussex will be opening their doors, showcasing activities and recognising the incredible volunteers who make it all happen. Action in rural Sussex (AirS), part of the national ACRE network of community building advisors, supports hall trustees and managers year-round through their community buildings advisory service, helping them provide welcoming, safe and accessible community spaces that are financially viable and meet the needs of their communities. Their Community Buildings team will be out and about visiting halls across Sussex during the week, so do say hello if you see them!
