Tree Action is a not-for-profit company that helps Sussex-based schools plan, fund and execute tree-planting projects, giving school children the opportunity to have their own trees to look after. After five successful school projects they are running a Crowdfunder campaign to raise funds for a project in Woodgate Primary Academy in Pease Pottage. They are hoping to raise £5000 which will pay for the academy’s forest school to have a forest of 20 fruit and woodland trees plus protection and extra tools to maintain them. You can read more  about their previous projects here – https://treeactionuk.org/school-projects/

Tree planting projects, and the education Tree Action provide to help school children maintain them independently, allow them to feel part of the solution to the climate crisis while enjoying the well-known benefits of engagement with nature for mental health. If you would like to help the children, school staff and families of the Crawley area experience these long-term benefits please donate via the Crowdfunder page linked here – https://www.avivacommunityfund.co.uk/p/treeaction-woodgateprimaryacademystreeproject

WWF and the RSPB are matchfunding the campaign 2:1, meaning that if you donate £250 they will add £500 to your donation, leading to an overall £750 going towards the campaign. Your donations will go even further with this campaign thanks to this extra funding, so if you are looking to make the biggest difference to your local community, from the ground up, then this is the place to start.

The campaign will be open to donations until September the 5th.
