Crawley Community Health Panel

We are pleased to invite you to the next Crawley Community Health Panel, which will take place on –

Date: Wednesday 15th April

Time: 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Venue: Longley Room at The Orchard, 1-2 Gleneagles Court, Brighton Road, Crawley, RH10 6AD.

For this next meeting we will be looking at a very important topic: Health and Care Research.

Health and care research shapes the treatments we receive, the services that are developed, and how the health system understands different conditions.  But many communities across the UK, and in Crawley, are under-represented in research studies, and this can contribute in very real ways to health inequalities.

This session will be delivered in partnership with colleagues from the Sussex Research Engagement Network (REN), who work with voluntary and community organisations to improve how communities are involved in health and care research.

During the session we will:

  • Explore why being represented in research matters for local communities
  • Hear about examples of health research happening in Sussex and elsewhere
  • Discuss the barriers that may prevent people from taking part in research and what could be done to overcome them
  • Share ideas about how communities in Crawley could have a stronger voice in shaping research in the future

As always, the Community Health Panel is designed to be interactive and discussion-based, and we are particularly keen to hear the perspectives of community leaders and organisations working with diverse communities across Crawley.

Your experience and insight can help ensure that research involves, and better reflects, our communities.

If you know someone who might be interested in this conversation, please feel free to share this invitation with them.  More details will follow shortly, but please save the date if you are able to join us.
