Healthy Start Voucher Scheme

The Voucher Scheme is an NHS initiative which offers support to some of the most vulnerable families. It has been around for some time, but take up has declined recently.

The scheme is for pregnant women, or parents with a child under 4, who are on benefits or under age 18. Vouchers can be used at local retailers to buy:

• milk
• fresh, frozen and tinned fruit and vegetables
• fresh, dried and tinned pulses
• formula milk.
