While library buildings may be closed, there’s a wide range of services now available on line for children, families and adults, through their website and social media.
We have dedicated children’s activities, home learning, and wellbeing resources available, plus our eBook and eAudio offer is proving so popular that we have added 1,300 extra eBooks and 450 eAudio titles to our existing collection. Around 32,000 international newspapers and magazines are being downloaded from our service each week, and we also have eComics available. Access to our eLibrary is completely free of charge, simply sign in with your library card (families can join the Library Service online if they are not currently members).
Families can keep up to date with library news through our social media pages Twitter @WSCCLibraries and Facebook @WestSussexLibraries. We are also very excited to have launched a new Facebook group, West Sussex Libraries – Family Corner, last week and we would love for you to join us. The group – aimed at parents, grandparents, carers and professionals – highlights some of the fantastic children’s activities and products we have as part of our current offer, including our popular staff rhyme time and Storytime videos, plus links to children’s learning and fun resources from publishers and other organisations.
There are plenty of resources for adults on our current offer pages too, so please do take a look for yourselves and others you may be caring for at this time. You can also join our Virtual Reading Group on Facebook.
