The Brighton & Hove Wellbeing Service have successfully secured funding for a trainee ASC therapist post to work with children and young people. The post-holder will work within the Dialogue service providing interventions whilst undertaking a program of training for this role. This intensive training post will equip the post – holder to provide interventions based on CYP-IAPT care principles and also interventions consistent with the ASC training course. The post- holder will work in the service for at least 2.5-3.0 days of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme for the remaining 2.0-2.5 days.
The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.
– Assess children and young people (CYP) for suitability for the treatment, with training provided
– Make decisions on suitability of new referrals with support from triage teams
– Formulate, deliver and evaluate therapy programmes for CYP clients.
Former EMHP and CWP graduates (or graduates from any other HEE funded course) need to be 2-years post-graduation to be eligible to apply (graduated by January 2020).

As this is a training position, please be aware that this is a dual application process where you must be employed in a Recruit to Train funded job to also receive a place on the course, and vice-versa. If you are ineligible for the University Course, you will be unable to be offered the role. If you withdraw from an employment offer but you have accepted a university offer, you will be unable to join the course.
This role will be best suited for applicants that are able to balance a busy work and study schedule. You will be an employee at the service but also enrolled for 2 days a week on a Postgraduate Diploma course. As this is a Postgraduate level diploma, you will also be required to be able to study and write academic material at this level. Applicants must be prepared to study and write assignments outside of protected study time (such as on weekends and after work).
