Paid engagement opportunity by Sussex Interpreting Services

The COVID-19 pandemic has stretched all components of the health and care systems to their limits, and in some cases, beyond. As a result, there is an unprecedented demand on urgent, emergency, and primary care services across Sussex and the UK. This means that these services are currently unable to meet the needs of the public within the expected timescales.

Sussex Health and Care Partnership are looking to have an open conversation with stakeholders and members of the public to discuss this challenge, to try and reach a collective agreement about the situation, and what role individuals, communities, and services have in helping each other manage it together. This will be facilitated by an independent organisation called Traverse.

Sussex Interpreting Services  would like to invite you to be a part of that conversation.

If you are interested, you will be required to attend two online workshops:

  • An onlinebriefing session on either Tuesday 2nd November, 6:00-7:00pm OR Thursday 4th November 11:00am-12:00pm (you can select one of these)

  • An online discussion workshop with a group of people from minority ethnic backgrounds from across Sussex on Monday 15th November 6:00-8:00pm

There is a £60 incentive for your attendance at both the briefing and the online discussion workshop.

In addition, you may then be invited to attend a workshop with a smaller group of stakeholders and members of the public. If possible, this workshop will be held in person, but this will be decided closer to the time based on what is safe and feasible. This will be on Saturday 4th December 12:30pm-4:00pm.

There is a £100 incentive for participation in this workshop, which includes travel costs.
